Our Leaders
Bishop James Hamilton, born on January 1, 1940, to Wilmer Scott and Haddie Hamilton, stands as a testament to unwavering faith and dedication in his role as a revered man of God. His spiritual journey began in Bellport, New York, where he embraced Christianity at a young age. Joining the Jefferson Temple Church of God in Christ, led by Pastor Jefferson, marked the initial steps of his spiritual growth.
Later, he returned to his roots to be close to his family, and in 1981, he married Bernaldyne Casteel. Their union brought forth five children. Subsequently, he became an integral part of the Douglas Temple F.B.C., where he served devotedly. Under the guidance of Bishop Titus B. Deas, Sr., he rose to the position of an ordained Deacon and remained steadfast in his service at the church, which eventually became Greater Mt. Calvary.
Answering a higher calling, he stepped into the realm of Ministry and continued to serve with unwavering commitment. His devotion led to his ordination as an Elder in The First Born Church of The Living God, still under the guidance and tutlage of Bishop Titus B. Deas, Sr., based in Ft. Valley, Georgia. For numerous years, Bishop Hamilton fervently preached the Gospel.
Through divine providence, Bishop Hamilton found himself in Pelham, Georgia, where he established New Harvest Ministries, Inc. The inaugural service took place on June 15, 2003, followed by a Dedication service on July 13, 2003, officiated by Diocese Bishop Titus B. Deas, Sr. This ministry, which commenced with a mere six members, underwent remarkable growth in the years that followed.
As the visionary leader of New Harvest Ministries, Inc., Bishop Hamilton has faithfully served as its Pastor since June 15, 2003. His unswerving obedience to God's calling has propelled the ministry's progression to unprecedented heights. In recognition of his exceptional leadership, he was honored as Pastor of the Year in 2007. Further, in 2010, he ascended to the esteemed position of Bishop.
Bishop Hamilton's resolute and fearless exposition of God's teachings has brought about transformative changes in countless lives. Moreover, he holds the esteemed role of Presiding Bishop over the New Harvest Ministries Fellowship of Churches, Inc. Under his guidance, the fellowship has established four new churches and birthed three, each in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.
